Note: This map combines NRDC estimates of the number of lead pipes with EPA estimates of the amount of IIJA funds the state will receive. EPA uses a formula to allocate the IIJA funds based on drinking water infrastructure needs. The formula has been updated in 2023. The estimated lead service lines in each state has also been updated which also affected the total funding allocated for each state. About $1 billion dollars for funds for tribes and territories and administration costs have been subtracted from $15 billion in IIJA funding for lead service line replacement.
